¹⁵ I am not asking you to take them out of the world but to ·keep them safe [protect them] from the ·Evil One [or evil; ^Cthe Evil One is the Devil]. ¹⁶ They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world. ¹⁷ ·Make them ready for your service [Sanctify them; Consecrate them; ^Csetting them apart for service] through your truth; your ·teaching [word] is truth.
